About us

I was born in a poor family of mill worker with two youngest sisters. We led our daily life very hard. Although I wanted to study more, I could not go for higher studies due to my family circumstances.
At my young age, I took up family responsibility and went to work.
When I worked as a contract nurse in Trichy Government Hospital, I saw the miserable condition of the helpless patients who came there.
It was then that I devoted my life to serving the destitute elderly abandoned poor patients.
I used to give medicine and support to elderly people who were lying on the streets of Madurai smelling of rotting sores.

I support about 400 people daily by giving them good food, drinking water and clothes for the last 15 years.
We used to serve by providing breakfast to the poor on the street sides, working for the mentally ill, physically challenged and bed patients.
We felt the need to formally register our affairs and Registered as a Trust. Our Surabhi Trust Registration No15/2014.
We have 12 A and 80 G Certificates. We submit our income, expenditure statement to Income Tax Department in every year.
I decided to start a Home in the hope that it would be safe for the mentally ill who roamed the streets, the young women who were sexually harassed by the ghouls, the lepers, the transgender, the old people who were frustrated with life stayed in one place.
I felt that it is very necessary to do all the duties for these people who are without support on the street sides in one place.
So with the support of my friends, I am starting and running a Home for bedridden patients named Thaimadi illam in Thirunagar, Madurai.
